Mourning Hours is an one man Atmospheric Black/Doom Metal and Depressive Rock project of Rubayet "Katatonic". This project was formed in March 2011 as a DSBM project and took 2012 to release the first single track (DSBM) which is the very first DSBM track among whole Bangladesh as Mourning Hours is also the very first Atmospheric Black and Doom Metal project in this country.
Rubayet, founder of one man solo project Mourning Hours. Was born and brought up in the capital of Bangladesh,Dhaka.
He always was inspired by the music of Iron Maiden since childhood. Before he met any other sub-genres, Maiden was his religion. Later when he discovered other sub-genres, slowly he began to divert into more darker music. Before finishing the high school he got influenced by Black Metal bands such as Mayhem, Dark Throne, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved & Lord Belial to make his own kinds of music. He desired to have the kind of music that has Doom intensity with Black atmosphere. Katatonia and Agalloch made him speechless and Forgotten Tomb were speaking his words.
Rubayet had many dreams and none were achieved. Mourning Hours is about those failures.
After starting the journey in 2011 as a DSBM project, the first single demo was out in 1st August, 2012. Later that year on September 4th this project released it's first EP album "A Journey From Here To Nothingness" independently on Bandcamp. By that time Mourning Hours was a member of Three Rooks Records's part and ever since then on next month the same EP album was re-mastered and re-released by Three Rooks Records on their bandcamp page. Then after taking a short break Mourning Hours started to work on the next split album tracks. It didn't take much long to finish 2 tracks for the upcoming split album and then on January 15th, 2013 the split album with Koboloris and Miseria Visage entitled as "Tribune Of Shadow" was released. But before that, on December 16th, 2012, one of Mourning Hours's demo track became the part of the first DSBM & Black Metal Compilation Album "Doomed In Depression". But ever since the split album was out, the project began to work on it's first full length album entitled as " Selfless Within" which took a very long time to finish. After nonstop working for several months the album was finished in September 2013. And by now we all know that "Selfless Within" is going to be released in October 11th, 2013.
